What we run in Vero Beach

Vero Beach runs its own water and sewer utility, so the grease requirements and the disposal expectations are set and enforced locally, and we bring the manifests to match. The city splits cleanly in two for us. Ocean Drive on the barrier island packs restaurants into a short strip with almost no back of house, so traps there need shorter intervals and the lines feeding them need jetting more often than anybody budgets for. Downtown along 14th Avenue and the hospital and college kitchens are steadier work with better access. Light manufacturing adds interceptor and washdown service that is not kitchen grease at all. Excavation runs to septic conversion in the county, driven by lagoon nitrogen, and utility exposure along US 1 and State Road 60.

Getting a truck in

The bridges to the barrier island decide the day. A loaded tanker has to cross back, so we plan the exit before the tank starts filling, and in season we do island work early rather than fight the traffic. Ocean Drive service areas are small, shared and often reached through a rear court with a single approach, so we scout addresses before the first visit. Downtown is easier, wider streets and real alleys. Anything along the lagoon side gets containment set first, because this county is spending serious effort on that water and we are not going to be the reason it goes backward. State Road 60 handles the trucks fine.

Through the year

Winter into spring fills the beachside strip and the island kitchens carry the sharpest swing, going from steady to slammed and back again, so their intervals move with it while downtown and the institutional kitchens stay comparatively level. Summer is the maintenance window, and we use it for jetting and structure work. The rainy months put pressure on the drainage feeding the lagoon, which makes basin cleaning a spring priority rather than a fall emergency. Storm preparation on a barrier island is not optional. The conversion work continues all year.
