Grease is the dominant pillar in Sunrise and it is not close. The Sawgrass district packs an outlet mall food court, an arena and a corporate park into a few square miles, which produces more grease in a small area than anywhere else we run in Broward. Food court interceptors serve many tenants at once and fill on a schedule nobody set on purpose, so we route them tight and jet the shared lines that feed them, because that is where the backups actually start. Arena kitchens surge around events and go quiet between, which is a different service interval entirely. The acres of parking around all of it drain into basins we vacuum out. Excavation here is mostly potholing on commercial sites in high ground water, out against the conservation area where holes want to fill themselves.
Getting a truck in
Sawgrass district lots are enormous and easy to stage in, which is the good news. The complication is everything running on an event and retail clock. When the arena has a date, the surrounding roads and lots are not ours, and the only sane window is overnight after the crowd clears. Food court service corridors are shared by every tenant’s deliveries, so we take our slot early in the morning before receiving starts. Sunrise Boulevard and Pine Island Road move fine outside peak. Corporate park sites want the truck and driver logged at the gate. Near the conservation area the shoulders are soft and we keep the weight on pavement.
Through the year
Winter and spring fill the outlets and the interceptor volume goes up with the foot traffic, so accounts that hold a quarterly interval through summer often need a tighter one from January on. Arena volume follows the event calendar rather than the tourist one. Rainy season puts the big parking fields to the test, and with this much pavement draining to district canals a silted basin shows up as standing water fast.
